1. Place all your ingredients (except for the corn syrup) into a large bowl. Heat a large heavy pan over medium-high heat until hot but not boiling.
2. Add ice and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the corn syrup until it melts.
3. Add the corn syrup (with more than 1/4 cup of liquid left in the pan) back to the pan; let cool in the pan for about 30 minutes.
4. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the coconut milk and water. Whisk in until the mixture is thick. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat, whisk in lime juice and serve, garnishing with cilantro.
CAMBRIDGE—On Monday, the city of Cambridge announced that its new mayor, Martin J. Walsh, will soon lead Boston, Mass., into the year 2077.
During his inauguration speech, he told City Hall watchers that his goal is to lead the city to become the “leading city in the world through science, innovation, and technological advancement, making it the most important city in the world for all of humanity.”

“By working alongside you to develop what we consider to be the optimal form of government and the best way to serve every citizen of this vast, untapped nation, I promise you will see us achieve this impossible task,” Walsh told the assembled crowd. “By collaborating and working together with our citizens, we will be a leading city in the world and a beacon of hope for those without a city like ours.”
Walsh is currently the CEO of Boston Consulting Group, a consulting firm that has spent the past 15 years researching how best to improve everyday life, including how to create cities that encourage innovation, increase the minimum wage, and encourage mass transit by improving the existing ones. His vision of Boston is to be a world-beating city with a vibrant, bustling environment, which he says will encourage people to stay in the city rather than move away.
Though there is still some amount of doubt surrounding the precise timeframes of what Walsh’s ambitious goals for the city will entail, the city seems to be on track with what he would set out to do.
