Well, if your track is “good”, the course will be very similar to, and very fast. If it’s “bad”. . . you can bet its faster. If the course is good, the field is usually very tight all the time so you can bet your winnings on the race with more confidence. When someone starts out in the handicapped position, which is where the field is “bad”, it becomes a lot tougher to win. That’s also where the stakes are the highest.
Is it possible to know when a horse has had a good day at the show? Yes! The show judges can usually tell when you win a race. So you’d be surprised to see how many people can beat the odds simply by being smart at the show.
Is race day fun? Not necessarily. If you want to win, you have to focus on winning – not on what other people see in that race or how they think you did. It’s one thing when you win because you have smarts, which helps you win the race…but there are still going to be a lot of people in the crowd who will say, “You lost because you don’t have smarts,” and will walk out on you. Winning is about having a good attitude, a good attitude, and a good attitude and being confident in yourself. If everyone is focused on that attitude, then you have a good chance of winning at the show.
Can anyone lose the show? Well, technically yes. But in the world of horse racing there are always going to be people who think you have the skill, and you get the point.
There are plenty of things that will make you nervous or frustrated. When you think you have made a huge move, that’s going to make you nervous. When you start seeing a lot of people around you, that’s going to be intimidating. You may think, “If I can’t beat my favorite, how am I going to beat my opponents.” Sometimes people will be more interested in showing off than winning. They may say, “You’re so good that I don’t even need to be there.” You’re never going to win against someone who can’t get out of your way.
There are different things that can be an advantage on a horse that you can see that other people can’t. One is your running pace. On my first horse, Sassy, when I was on the lead it was a nice little run. But when the first three guys in
