What is a half court shot in basketball? – Will Rogers Downs Race 10

In an effort to keep this article focused on one team, one player and one aspect of the game, I’ve included a few sample shots and highlights of the “shot” below, but not necessarily in that order. All I have done is to keep this article concise. For instance, I haven’t included, for the sake of completeness, a “point to point” shot that you can simply pass the ball on to your opponent’s guy on the pick and roll. I’m going to make an attempt to create some awareness of the options in this game. The first option is often the simplest. Take a mid-range jump shot. The ball moves to you as you get to mid-range. Once in mid-range, you are free to move the ball to your man. The best player (usually) has a choice about which pass he takes. Sometimes he can pass the ball right to the guy shooting. Other times he could look up for a ball screen and look for his own man to attack. The advantage of this shot is that you can still look around. The disadvantage is that you have less time to put the ball on the floor. However, you do have the advantage of having a shot that may end up in the bucket.

The second option, as I mentioned, is a ball screen to the right where you throw yourself in a spot where your defender may try to defend your shot. In the moment of attack, you can either shoot the ball back to your guy or pass to your guy to a spot where your guy may be able to get an open 3-point shot. In other words, most options have an advantage to them that can be used later on. In this case, you have a choice. Keep the ball, have the ball screen and keep your guy with you. Keep the ball and hope for a nice shot that might end up being a few years down the road. As the player passes around, he’s free to throw the ball to a spot where your guy, or the guy he’s passing to becomes a threat. The disadvantage is that you can’t really change the speed or direction the ball is going. Now as you move the ball around the floor, you have less time to look around (and therefore less time to get a shot off) than with the half court shot from the midrange. I’m more interested in what’s going on before the shot is made. I don’t have any examples right now, or even a list of all of the options available.
