When working chord progressions, it’s easier to create tension in the chords. This usually means higher tempo (if in tune) or a bit faster
The keys are very well spaced apart, which allows you to do things like finger pick a chord while strumming in a small space
When working over a large interval (like C minor), you can do things like alternate between C minor and G minor scales, or alternate between major and minor pentatonic
The low string (piano keys) is very nice to use while you’re playing a solo that uses the low guitar strings
A little larger key means you don’t have to hold the pitch on the upper string all the time, which makes for better tone
When changing between scales, you can make the changes happen more quickly
For example, if you make a D5 on the high strings and a C major on the low string, the C major note will ring loudly, whereas the D5 will be quiet
As you can see, there are pros and cons to each size. But, for the vast majority of pianists of all sizes, the keys for a smaller piano fit their style of playing much better than a big keyboard.
How big is too big to learn piano guitar?
It depends. Different pianists have different needs and wants when it comes to playing. Some are looking to learn as many notes in their set as possible in order to get as much out of the experience, and they may not even be able to use a keyboard at home.
