If you’ve ever played for a group of musicians, you have probably noticed that some keys have a large number of white keys, while others have almost none. This is a very common behavior among pianoists. This behavior seems to be determined by a combination of the relative key sensitivity of the players and the acoustic characteristics of the instruments. You can easily test these in your own playing by placing yourself behind the piano and playing a simple piece of music. You could, for example, move the keys up in pitch, or to the left or right, and compare the loudness and pitch differences between the keys.
Can I improve my playing by playing with the same keyboard?
The answer to that question is no. While piano playing can improve with practice, there are many piano keys that are highly sensitive to noise. There are more than ten piano keys which contain exactly one white key and this particular piano has four of these keys in total. Some of the keys on a keyboard have a higher degree of sensitivity to noise than others.
