The purpose of this webpage is to help you to know how to recover lost Bitcoins and prevent them from becoming lost again. It is based on the knowledge gained when I recovered my lost coins from a thief and his girlfriend in Thailand.

This page is provided as a quick reference for anyone who wants to know the truth and to understand how to prevent losing your Bitcoins. I used the following principles which I have learned from the thief’s girlfriend to help him with his scam.
1. There are two ways your Bitcoins can get lost:
Lost in your possession
You may lose your Bitcoins by being lost in your possession (eg in a bag somewhere.) Most people will have lost their Bitcoins at school or work. This is called theft because somebody has used their Bitcoins to pay for services (eg. an airline). But when someone has stolen them the Bitcoins are no longer yours.
Someone can tell you that you lost your Bitcoins in your possession by putting your Bitcoin address in a special website where they can tell your friends. When you get your Bitcoins back you can ask your friends to put your address in their contacts, because the friends can tell what others have asked your friend to put in their contacts. Of course, this will not save your Bitcoins from being stolen again!
Lost in a computer
Your Bitcoins are lost when you lose power to your computer. A computer is called a safe because it contains some Bitcoins.
Most computers will automatically close at night, if their power goes off. This is because the power causes the computer to run out of USB cards. Some people will leave USB cards in their PC (eg. in a jacket) whilst they are at work. Then when they get home and start working they will have to use the computer again!
If your Bitcoins are automatically shut off by a power loss, you have probably lost them. To restore your Bitcoins you have to restore a backup of the Bitcoins
