That’s a little complicated; there’s always an element of interpretation.
And Waltz can mean what Waltz means (for “In the Heights”) or it can mean nothing at all. It’s a very loaded question, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to answer all questions on it, because the answer to everyone’s question is “No.”
Do you think Walt may be doing some evil stuff, beyond robbing banks?
That’s the question. Walt knows more things than we ever will. So I never know. I also don’t know what Walt means.
Do you think his actions are justified, morally?
No. I think [the decision to rob the bank] goes beyond morality. I feel like every decision has consequences. The actions have consequences. You can live with the loss of money, the loss of life. I’m not saying you shouldn’t kill anybody, but why would you risk everything to kill a child? Or your husband in his last hour? Or a child? I don’t think so.
It’s a good question if you could answer it. I’m not even talking about Walt. But I think that you’ve seen, by the end of the season that he has some kind of plan — some kind of plan with his family, some kind of plan with Walter White — it’s going to be really great one day. But at this moment, it’s all random.
Do you watch any of the movies?
No; I think the TV show is what I watch.
What do y’all watch? TV?
I don’t watch so much TV anymore.
The show and the books?
I think [the series] can stand alone; it can keep all the story. But I don’t really watch the book. I was just telling myself what I read.
Do you think there’s a scene on the show where it’s really fun to think about some of the crazy ideas you have, such as the death of Hank Schrader?
I don’t know. You gotta find some, you know? [Laughs]
What else do you hope people take away from this season, and what are they going to think?
I like to see how Walt’s character is evolving. I look forward to hearing from our fans, too. But I do think the ending of “Breaking Bad” is the biggest cliffhanger of all time.
