A social dance involves two or more people dancing together for an extended period of time (usually several bars or sets or a set) in a specific area in the same venue. For our social dance mixers, we will provide the DJ, dancers and audience with an area to dance in together.
A dance mixer involves one person in DJing (with the DJ’s mic and lights on) and another dancing in a DJ-approved area. If the audience doesn’t need a DJ and just wants to enjoy the party, they can just leave the area completely.
You and others can also dance with a DJ in the dance mixer area, or join the party in the DJ area.
Social dances in bars and clubs don’t necessarily require a DJ in the DJ area to get you there (unless they’re using DJs for a special set). We’re happy to provide your DJ with a place to dance that’s safe, clean and doesn’t need a DJ on.
There are also social dance mixers that work at night in some nightclubs or venues. But those usually involve more equipment and staff, which means you will be required to hire that person.

What’s an open party?
An open party is when there is no set DJ at a DJ area. It’s about the music and the DJ, not about DJs. Some may call it a “mix party”.
Open Parties are a great way for DJs to meet new fans and get out on the streets in the evening and get in touch with their fans that don’t make it to the club in the early hours.
