What are the things you can get away with on television and on the movie screen?
Not on television. Television tends to be a bigger, more complex game, so we try to keep as small a footprint as possible.
Do you have any advice for someone wanting to be part of “The Dark Tower”?
Don’t go away. We’re lucky to have a pretty small cast, so there’s only so many times that we can spend in one place. I don’t know where the next one in the series will take place, but I hope to see more of it.

More of a family-friendly film starring Daniel day-Lewis, which I’m sure fans of the books will love.
How did you get involved with “The Dark Tower”?
When my agent told me that I was signed to direct, I just thought, “Well that’s cool…”
What was your casting process like for “Crimson Peak” with “The Dark Tower”?
Mostly it was about the chemistry and being a good fit for each other. Dan was amazing in “Dances With Wolves”; he’s such a wonderful actor, and I’m just thrilled to be working with him again.
How did you get involved with the “The Dark Tower” sequel trilogy?
I’d been reading the books since I was a kid, and I was looking for an opportunity to direct one. I think I was 14 or 15 when I started out with “The Dark Tower” and “Dance With Wolves,” and I’d been working on various projects and writing stuff for my art-school-laptop for a long time.
Where did the “The Dark Tower” sequels/prequels come from?
I don’t know! I’ll probably write an episode soon.

Yes and yes…
How did you meet Daniel Day-Lewis?
I met him the first time I shot on the “Dance With Wolves” movie. We met in my mother’s house. I knew from the beginning he was an incredible artist – there’s nothing he can’t do.
