What does a soft track mean? – Horse Racing In Downtown San Diego

It’s a mix of high and low end. Most of the music was recorded at lower frequencies and a ton of it is pretty deep and rich, with strong mid and lower treble. The result is a warm sound that is easy on the ears.

What did you learn in the recording studio?

I got good at working with light, dynamic material. I’m also a little bit of a purist, which is why I’m more interested in things that are in the same vein as my favorites. If it wasn’t in the same vein, I wouldn’t care. When I’m creating music, I always try to avoid things that are in the vein of something I’ve heard or something that I was inspired by.

As for mixing? I was kind of an idealist, and this was an opportunity to learn a little bit more about how to approach it. I’ve used a lot of different approaches in a couple sessions for albums I’ve done, and it has given me a much more comfortable listening posture. My favorite method is to set things up like I typically do and then start at a lower frequency, where I hear what I like, and then work my way up to higher frequencies. I have a friend I trust, though, and I think they tend to take me in a direction that works better.

Was it challenging to record something on a smaller budget?

I think it was quite challenging to get in a space where they could do what they needed and still make a decent living. They were able to do the whole mix and they’d already done the mastering treatment. They’re able to do the entire thing for $125, and I think it’s fair enough, but you still have to make it sound professional and not just cheap. If there’s a lot going on, the sound of a lower octave is going to go from very detailed and bright and rich to murky and fuzzy and less detailed and brighter.

Did you have to go through any adjustments during the mixing process? Did you ever just have to cut a song with something a little looser?

Interesting Information on Horse Racing You Probably Didn ...
I’m usually very satisfied by what I’ve heard when I listen back. It doesn’t always have to be in the exact same spot on the record. Sometimes it’s very subtle things. Sometimes it’s that I wasn’t thinking about it at all and my ears didn’t catch it. It’s very easy to throw out something, especially if you’re not even sure what you’re changing.
