What is a “J.K. Rowling Fan”?
Harry Smith, Author of the Harry Potter books and co-creator of the fan-fictional wizarding lexicon, has made it clear that he is not a fan.
He has made many comments on the topic of J. K. Rowling’s fame and reputation: he wrote that she is “a liar” who has “dirt on her book series”. He stated his opinion that J.K. shouldn’t go to any conventions and that she should never author a book.
He also states in the Harry Potter Wiki that he has taken J.K.’s book to his high school library and had an “irritated experience” in which the professor “made an issue out of her story by mentioning how much Harry liked her and how happy Harry had been when she gave him some fanfiction”.
It’s true that I have been an enthusiastic (and many times offended) fan of J.K. Rowling, but it doesn’t mean she should be allowed to dictate her own canon. Not everyone has to agree with her works. It’s not as though J.K. Rowling has given up any of her books. She also has the right as a creator to pick whatever characters and scenes fit best. I’ve never been a big fan of her books but if that’s something you consider, feel free to read some fan work and come to your own conclusions.

In the real world, no one would ever “take away” someone’s copyright if they decided something better would be written instead. The same is true now for J.K. Rowling. No one is going to force other authors to be happy with what J.K. Rowling writes, just like no one
