How many chords do guitarists know? – Learn Guitar Online For Free

More than 99.9 percent.

That’s right: 99.9.99 percent of musicians know at least 12 of the over 1,000 chords in the entire world’s piano standard. And that includes some serious experts like pianist George Gershwin, pianist David Sylvian, and pianist Paul Maschmeyer, who are the first to go to church on Sunday and know every note of every musical octave…or any chord, for that matter.

And some of these familiar tunes (and some new ones) are simply impossible to play. Even for an experienced pianist, you won’t be able to play one of these 12 chord tones on any guitar or keyboard. There are, however, some simple ways to learn the key of every chord, and more than 150 guitar chord variations. You need only to take a few minutes each day to learn the key to any of these 12 chords—whether you’re studying for a test, practicing for an audition, or jamming with your friends.

For a quick, one-page guide to the chord charts included in the Guitar Chord Database, check out our downloadable index. The first page, called Chords, shows the key signature of each chord, the interval of that chord, and the scale it’s built upon.

Here are the chord notes that appear in each chord in the database:

The first chord in the database’s keys is the root of every key, like root of Bm or Gm, root of D-Ab, root of C-F, root of Eb-F, root of Ab-Db, root of A-Ft-Ab. (There are other root tones, too, like C3, Gm3, and Ab#min.)

For each chord (from A to C), we provide the root of the chord (either the root of that chord or the root of the key, depending on how each chord is constructed), the number of notes it has (1, 2, or 3), the second, third, and seventh notes, and the augmented (sharp) and diminished (flat) tones. And here’s what each chord’s scale looks like:

So the chord C-F major, the seventh note of the scale (2-3-5-6-7-9), looks like this: C#/Eb F#/Gm Bb5/Am C#/Db7

And the chord C
