Here are some thoughts on the current list:
There are several popular courses on guitar in addition to my list. One popular music course in particular has been getting plenty of press lately: the Guitar For Dummies Guitar Program. This is a wonderful, fun tool which will make your guitar playing significantly easier. I like this course very, very much. If you think I might disagree with your own view, check out the course and judge for yourself.
Another popular music course with excellent video instruction is the “How to Play Guitar” course by Alex Lifeson, an experienced teacher. Lifeson has a nice guitar video and instructional website for guitar. The most basic concept of guitar can be found in his website, and it’s a very easy way for you to pick up more basic guitar skills quickly. This course isn’t so much a course of study but rather a guided approach. For those not up to speed, Lifeson goes through the entire guitar chord progression methodically.
Another popular guitar course, by a different artist, is the “Guitaretto”. If you’ve seen it but haven’t played through the video, I recommend you check it out. It’s very well-designed and has excellent video instruction. The guitar is a bit easier than the Guitar Program course, and the teacher, Jason Anderson, has a lot of interesting guitar lessons to offer. Guitarist Jason has also made an instructional website, guitarapprentice.com, that is excellent for guitar lessons as well.
The other popular “music school” course is Guitar Lesson – by Chris DeDomenico of The School of Rock. This is very well-designed and well-edited – a great course for those looking to learn to play a musical guitar. There’s also a popular web-based website by Guitar Player Magazine which has a similar style approach to the guitar lesson from the School of Rock website.

Another really well-designed (although a bit more difficult) guitar lesson on the website Guitar Player Magazine. This video tutorial and music lesson takes you through the chords and the whole process of learning guitar. You don’t need to be a master guitarist – you just need to know one thing or a few things. Great guitar lessons in print can be pretty difficult, so this site has you covered
