If you select Gimp to use when generating a new document, you’ll then find it in an icon at the bottom right. This icon contains a grid of icons from which you can choose for both PDF and EPS files as well as SVG files. You can also select different file formats for the two files, such as JPG, PNG and PNG/TIFF.
If you decide you don’t already use Gimp, you do have the option to use it. You can do this using Gimp’s File Manager. It’s just a drop down menu, similar to the File Manager and the Image Editor buttons found in the Tools menu. If you don’t already use Gimp, this is exactly what you need to do to edit your images in the document.
