I am writing this post because it is becoming so common to see images posted as “Beginner Tips: This is how you can make your images look better” on Instagram. Instagram isn’t exactly the place where learning new things should be pushed.
One reason for this is that, for most bloggers, “learning new things” tends to mean learning the basics well enough to take your work to a professional photographer. If you are more of a beginner, what’s a better way to learn than by doing some photography and seeing how you can improve your image?

Using a new layer will give you the mask for the layer below it, which basically becomes hidden and hidden until you remove the mask.
