The first thing we do is make sure our image is the right size to be used as a wallpaper. It’s usually good to go with at least 200-500px x 200-500px, which is enough for most pictures. So to make a wall on your home screen, go to the Pictures tab of the camera app (usually at 2x or 5x zoom), and select your image. The next time you open the camera app, you’ll see this on the screen:
On the next screen, you can also select the wallpaper. For this, select the “Set as wallpaper” option as shown to the right. Then you can choose the wallpaper you want to apply, and the app will tell you if it can resize the image to fill the available space. Click the “OK” button, then go ahead and save your picture for download.
Now you can download your wallpapers! You can use any application to download them, so go ahead and use Google Drive or iCloud Drive, as appropriate.
Note that you can’t add more wallpaper than any given resolution. So do a good job of selecting your size and the resolution, as well as what size of your wallpaper you’d like to add, and save for future reference (remember your first wallpaper).
That’s it! If your first wallpaper is a bit small, you can go into the next screen and resize as you would with a full-screen wallpaper. Just do a few more clicks, and you’ll see the new wallpaper appear when your next screen appears.
If you are happy with the new, bigger wallpaper, you can go ahead and save it for future reference, but in case you’d like a different wallpaper, go ahead and add it to your Google Drive (or iCloud Drive), and it’ll be there when you need it.
If you’d prefer making a single photo background, you can do that as well. Select the picture you made previously as your wallpaper, and go back to the pictures tab of the camera app. You’ll see that it has now been set as a photo background:
So if you select a photo as a wallpaper, it’s automatically created a wallpaper for it.
If you are working with a photo file on Google Photos, you can select a photo background. When you’re working with a photo on Google Photos, you’ll see a little list of photos you have on your Drive. Select a photo, and you’ll see that it is available as a
