Image-editing software is used to edit all photos, but professionals tend to use Photoshop for its powerful effects and editing capabilities. The software usually saves images in several formats; depending on the file type, it may be a jpeg, a png, a gif or a bmp.

It’s not uncommon for professionals to use programs such as Lightroom to edit photos. However, photojournalists are more likely to use other photo editing software. Some examples would be Lightroom 6 or Lightroom Elements 3.
In some cases, the difference may appear in the form of a single letter: “A” vs. “Ae” vs. “Ae.” But in others, the differences may be a series of letters arranged in a pattern that includes the first three digits of a credit card number. These patterns, called numerical codes, are used to facilitate the transfer of funds between banks and companies. If a customer wants the money transferred to a new bank account, he or she has to enter the numerical code that corresponds to the four letter code, such as 1234567.
When this pattern is crossed off, the credit card number is not treated as a valid credit card number. The two entities — both banks and the companies that employ them — do not recognize it.
Although consumers often do not understand the difference, it has serious consequences when a credit card is lost or stolen. The first problem is that you will have no way to get the card back. The second problem is that for the companies, this breach of security means lost revenue. For a credit card company, those lost credit card numbers could be worth tens of millions of dollars.
In fact, a recent report from Consumer Reports found that banks have lost more than 5 million credit card numbers since 2011 to attackers who exploited their customers’ trust. For businesses, any losses due to credit card fraud can be astronomical.
