Last week, the president of the United States called Dr. Ben Carson an “ideological terrorist,” which is a phrase to which a good deal of conservatives will probably be unsympathetic. But the word has its roots in history, and it was probably not intended as a snarky term; it actually refers to a man of the cloth, not the political world they inhabit.
No, Dr. Ben Carson, at what would have been the start of his political career in the Democratic Party, used what is called a “bobble head.”
It is a device used by doctors to create the impression that whatever is under conversation has been observed by a spectator who is sitting behind or near the surgeon.
