I can learn piano 40 and I am doing my best, but in my dream, I have always been told that you have to get there by being yourself. And I’m not that. I’ve never been in a band, and I’ve never been a singer, and I’m not the singer. You can’t learn with what you are unless you are a very special person. If you don’t have that specialness that the world calls the person you are and what you do and what you stand for, I don’t know what they have in the world. I have a family, I have a friends, I’ve just met some amazing people, and they’ve all been wonderful, but I haven’t had a chance to be myself. I’ve never had the chance to go back to the place where I came from and learn about my family, the things, to make me a better person for it. A better person who will be true to himself.
I have always seen the world as if I had it by myself, and I don’t know how I even do it. I’m in my kitchen. I’m listening to the world, and it is all kind of happening inside of me, and I go to the sink, and it’s nothing, and it’s the same thing. I’m just listening to it all the time. A lot of people will do that, and that’s what you’re saying, that you do it in your room.
Are you able to read things that you don’t want to read?
I can read about myself without putting anything down, but I don’t know what they do with it or who reads it. I am not someone who wants people to read my feelings of depression, my anger, my depression, my anxiety. I mean, I don’t really want that. But I know people will try to write those things down. But I don’t know what they are going to end up being, and it’s just the reality that everybody’s got.
Do you like to read books?
I have a book, which, I just came up with it now: “The Joys of Eating Better”—that sounds super weird. But my book is about learning to cook things that don’t taste good, and I can eat whatever I want.
