That’s why I’m starting a new type of blog, where I’ll write about topics that I think are important and share them with a group, who are willing to help me out.
In this category, I’m going to write about how to improve your piano playing (which in my book is a must), and in this category we will talk about strategies I’ve found for improving your piano playing (even if it’s just a practice session).
In the next section, I’ll share some tips with you, if you would like to work on your piano playing in any way you can.
1. Find yourself a piano tutor — your own personal piano tutor
We all have to deal with life challenges, as any human being is. The challenge for us is how to cope with these challenges.
I know that I have a lot to learn, I’m not sure if I can keep up in my piano playing after all my time on the bench!
To have a better opportunity to overcome these challenges, the best way to find out whether or not you can play piano, is to learn a piano tutor first.
I know you probably feel scared about hiring a piano teacher (and even if you are scared, why would you hire one?!) but if you want a friend to help you with your piano training, to get to know the keyboard and to help you pick up the skills then you should find a piano teacher yourself.
What’s more, this way, you can get yourself a friend who doesn’t have piano skills you need and who also works with kids. In the end, you can have a very supportive, and happy music-loving friend that can encourage you on your journey, and help you on your way.
The best part is, in your search for a piano teacher, you have a lot of options! Many piano teachers are very good, but they don’t know all the details. If in doubt, just ask a lot of questions; the chances are that your teacher will know which skills you need and which ones you have yet to learn. And then you can ask.
