Is harmonica easier than guitar? – Youtube Learn To Play Ukulele Easy Song Perfect

In general, guitar is more physically demanding and requires longer breathing in order to maintain focus. That being said, there are some areas where harmonica are easier to learn than guitar:

Hand size and range of motion:

You have to think about your hand position at every position in your playing. If you are playing your melodic phrases while looking up in the air, you don’t have to worry about your hand touching the bottom of the guitar head. If you play your harmonic phrases while looking down or back, you have to consider how far your hand is from it as well.

If you hold your hands up straight at the top of the head with your thumb at the edge of the fretboard, you will use less of their physical resources. I see several people practice harmonica on their fingertips at any moment. This is obviously a waste of energy and money. Just hold your hands straight up, with more of their physical resources focused on your fingers.

Tension:

Harmonica strings are very strong and take a lot of energy to move. It’s easy to get into a tension, which increases your playability (and in the hands of course!)

You have to think about playing your intervals with more and more tension. Just be careful that you maintain tension while listening to your fingers. Even a slight bend in the tension can change how the fingers “feel” on the fingerboard and what they are doing with their movement. Just look at one of my favorite videos for a demonstration:

Now how would a teacher balance the work of your hands in time with the work of your fingerings and timing?

If we look at the video, the instructor has set himup with the guitar in the exact same position on both sides. We then watch him play a different song – one which has different rhythmic content. In this case, the teacher chose a few moments on the guitar to play “melody” or whatever is the topic of the video.

We see different levels of tension from playing the chords using only “soft” strumming which is very effective at giving you a feeling that you are feeling the chords – but at the same time not feeling the tension of the chords when you are strumming them.

We see a different level of tension using some more strumming which is harder than the other strumming, but still not quite as strong as the other strumming used in the first video. And then there
