Dance represents freedom to choose and participate in society. Its importance in our culture is that it helps to celebrate, express and protect our identities; and that by doing so we are showing off both in our lives and in our society. It is important to preserve our heritage traditions and culture. As we become more aware of how our cultures have developed we should also make our own cultural traditions and practices more visible.
