Do men follow the female equivalent of what’s known as the “Hula Dancing Circle”?
I was introduced to a form of social dancing in the last few weeks that involves a male and female dance team that uses a traditional female-male dance called the “Hula Dance Circle”. You’ll see the dancers (all male) dancing in groups, and one man would sit in front of his woman and dance to the music using the Hula Stance in a sort of “Hula Fence” style of social dancing (see picture below).
It’s quite refreshing to see this form of social dance because it’s such a nice change of pace to see a men and women dancing in a similar manner. It has been known to me personally as such an informal, non-threatening, and casual thing to watch.
Hula dance circles are a great way for young people to see just how flexible social dancing is – and it’s definitely a form of dancing that’s not reserved for older or professional dance clubs.

A man who was arrested by New York police after allegedly shooting and killing a man in Brooklyn and then attempting to rob an armored car filled with bullets also made up the details of the shooting himself, according to court documents.
The document details a struggle with a 22-year-old in which “the weapon discharged and the suspect then put the weapon under the victim,” who has not yet been identified by police, according to Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson.
Police say the victim “got tangled with [the gunman] and that’s when they fought, and [the gunman] was able to get his weapon out and pull the trigger.”
The document also says that when officers arrived, the shooter — identified as 42-year-old Eric Garner — showed them a gun. Officers said Garner began to show signs of distress before he was Tasered and placed in the back of what appeared to be a police car.
A spokesman for the district attorney said the shooting was investigated by the Brooklyn narcotics unit. It was not known if he faced any charges.
