What is the meaning of social dances? – Center For Social Dance Facebook Reviews Tab

Social dances are dances in which all the men wear women’s clothes and all the women wear men’s clothes. The dances are not just dances, but also theatrical scenes of a musical entertainment.

In India the social dances were in some ways an imitation of the dances in Europe. A kind of dance which seems to have had an influence on that country was that in which ladies of high rank danced in a kind of dance-circle. In the Middle Ages, after the introduction of the dress, “dance-days” were celebrated by the members of public in which dances were performed. In the Renaissance dance-day was a new movement. It was a new mode of social life.

The dancing days were usually held once a month. They were called “dances of the day” in a sense. They consisted of different dances that were held every month. These dances included such things as the bachata, the pashmina, the dandusha, the kirtan, the jala, the tambara, the tabla, the kabara, the chakra (also called “mangamma”), the sambara, the muhu-sa and so on.

Dance of the day was made up of several dance-days. The dancing days were named by the dance-masters of these different kinds of dances. There were four such dancing days: ganda-dzanga (or “sitting in a circle”), bahir (or “sitting on a chair”), vachal (or “vacan”), and karwadi (or “dance”).

The dances of the day were not all made by the same dance masters. Some of the same people who invented a dance were supposed to make another dance, and sometimes a third dance. If two dances were made by a single dancer (i.e. the “dancer”), then in the evening (the first dance) that he died, the next dancing day (kara-hara), the dance was repeated by a new dancer (in the second dance) and so on. It was customary to wear dresses as well as other clothes.

Dances of the day, however, were still popular even in modern times.

The first dance-day was held in 1885. The name of the dance-day is Bajraj-Gani-Kosh (The Dancing Days in India). Many other social dances had
