The fact of the matter is that you need to have a lot of experience before directing a feature film. If you’re just starting out, a year’s production work is all you’ll need to earn a few thousand dollars. This is a crucial period for a young director to develop his or her career, as well as earn back the work. When we started working the past four years on the game, we knew that it was a very ambitious undertaking. We also knew that there would be quite a lot of work that had to be done before there was a release. It would take us quite a few months before getting started in earnest and a lot of time later before we could actually release our first official update and feature, but we knew we had something special!
And now, just as we finish wrapping up that, we are happy to say that we are able to show you the first real screenshots of our next epic adventure: Rook City!
It has been a bit over a year since we began work on Rook City and the main development team has worked overtime to make this game come alive. While it is quite possible that our work could take them longer, in all honesty I personally feel that our development time has been far much shorter than is necessary and that we had a lot of fun making this game with a team that truly understands our game and that really pushes the envelope every day.
After all of that effort, you can rest assured there is a hell of a lot to come from Rook City and it’s looking extremely promising! This first trailer really shows off some of the different environments and the types of enemies you can battle with!
Rook City is set in the Star Citizen universe in the future, a world where space travel is feasible, planets are uninhabitable and you don’t really know what’s around out there, but you could also be one of the lucky ones and be born with a talent that could mean the difference between life and death!
