Is it not a career? There are many jobs outside of acting, and when I am off cast my role can be to the rescue. I am constantly volunteering and supporting theatre, but I am at the centre of the action in many respects, even though I am much more involved then at the moment. I am not an actor at heart but a director and producer, and when I am not on screen I am a musician, author, teacher, coach, producer and promoter, the last three of which are essential. The business, even though it has become the envy of the world, is still in it’s infancy and will evolve.
Q: So you have no regrets?
A: No…
Q: What about your next project? In fact let me say, I will do a short interview, with the same style as your interview with L’Equipe. I will be going to Paris to talk to a woman who was so very important to my childhood: Madame Pompadour, who was a model and actress in her day. The interview won’t be published, but perhaps you can publish it as a book. You are one of the few who have talked on camera about Madame Pompadour, your mother, your father, and your sister. Do not be shy, come out and talk to us. Madame Pompadour is a very complex woman. It is an astonishing story, and if you go to Paris, you will meet the Madame of your dreams. Her life is the only story you will ever know. Thank you so much for doing this interview for me.
