Most producers are making much more than actors. The biggest reason for this is that a typical film is being shot in a multi-million dollar facility, with two massive sets on the roof, with hundreds of people living and working for a few days in a hotel. All the extra equipment that goes with it. These days, the majority of the work is being done on set by camera operators, with the sound recordists handling the sound and the lighting team making the film look “as good” as possible.
How often do you shoot a particular film?
Most of the work is done in the last two years. This gives us time to shoot the movie before its release. If we were starting fresh we would have to shoot the entire movie within a couple weeks, which would mean it would be done almost exclusively with one or two actors at a time. This is far more challenging to shoot, though that is usually not the case. We usually shoot for a couple weeks and then shoot for five to ten days if we have a few extras on-set.
What type of extras bring in the most money?
The extras most often bring in more money than the cast. However many work on this film don’t have any real background in acting, or acting is not their passion, and therefore they’re more of a physical cost than a mental one.
Do you have any restrictions on extras?

The only restrictions we have are those to use “green screen” as opposed to the usual “paint”. We use very few actors and the extras are much more of a physical cost than a mental one.
What goes on in the set while you shoot a movie?
We usually are in one of the several “stables” that will stay open so we are always able to use the facilities of the set. If we have a stunt, or a scene in which a group of people needs to climb from a rope, or something where we are shooting a fight in the parking lot, that’s what we do.
Once you’re done shooting a film do you send it off or do you throw it out as it is done?
We toss things out on a regular basis. We don’t throw all our work out, but generally we just throw a couple days of shooting out on to the curb (the garbage).
Can you tell us about the set and the production?
Most of the sets are in Los Angeles, California. The actual
