Is it hard to become a filmmaker? – Independent Filmmaking Tips From Professionals On How To Dye

Yes! It’s difficult and it takes years to learn about filmmaking and get the training. The majority of my friends who’ve done the course had never had the skills to make films, but they love making movies. The thing that is different about producing for the camera is you don’t have to have a great story or talent — you don’t have to have an Oscar as a proof and proof of concept. The only thing that you have to be able to do, and the only way to achieve that, is to love the art form of filmmaking.

Did you see a lot of action movies?

Not the whole bunch! I saw the first one in ’94, the second in ’98. I went to see the first one with two friends, just like my dad. It was the best time of my life, it’s something that is on my bucket list, and my husband and I were looking to shoot it again this year. I hope to do it with him one day.

What was your favorite scene in “Inception?”

I’m usually not into acting. That’s why I’ve stayed away from them, to be honest. But it was really sweet. You see the moment when that guy says “Oh boy, I don’t have much time. I guess I’m going to stay here, you stay here, and I’ll talk to someone in London.” It was so sweet for the other characters and for the audience to see it. That scene was so beautiful, it had me falling in love with acting again.

What are you interested in watching?

Nothing really. I love the work of the old masters, I think they are beautiful. I like to be inspired by it, but I don’t really want too much right now. I want to watch that film that was made so many years ago, it’s so beautiful, and the way it was made is still being made today. There’s a lot of great stuff.

What is the highlight of your day-to-day?

I’m here with my husband and family. We’re in the studio and we watch movies, watch cartoons. My favourite ones: Family Guy, Adventure Time — all those kids shows are so adorable.

Did you want to be a reporter for more than six years?

No, not really. I wanted to be a journalist, I wanted to be a writer, I wanted to be a playwright, a director.
