Filmmakers are a diverse group, so I think the list of 24 crafts is fairly broad, and it doesn’t even mean a particular industry in particular. Instead, it’s a collection of things that you can find in the world of film.
Here are two more movies I’d recommend checking out if you’re interested in that creative process.
This one’s a horror flick, so it’s probably got a few gory scenes in it.
This one has a ton of sci-fi scenes as well.
Both of these are awesome projects, and if you’re interested in that artistic process (or science fiction, space opera, or whatever, I’m sure there are other examples out there too), I hope these examples speak to you.
If anyone out there knows more, post a comment below and I’ll be happy to read!
And now we get down to the nitty-gritty of what this list is based on…

What is film artistry?
As I explained over a hundred years ago in I Love You, Yours, A Film Art Diary:
Film artistry was defined then (and continues to be defined, even today) as the creative expression of the craft of filmmaking which, as it were, is the art of filmmaking in the cinema. This definition is as relevant today than it was then. Films have changed drastically since what is often considered to be film artistry was defined in the 1800s (to some extent, all films are now considered work of expression). The film artistry of the early 20th Century was still primarily expressed through the medium of motion pictures.
But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a very solid and very specific process in film that I’m not going to discuss here.
I want to emphasize that there is a broad spectrum of creativity in film, and that you don’t need a PhD or even a degree to be creative in film. As a friend of mine always says, “Film, the medium, never died.” It’s just that there are certain things that have evolved over the years as filmmakers have sought out new tools in the way of the craft.
For example, some filmmakers might think of film artistry as taking the time to craft an idea out of thin air in order to communicate with that idea in a compelling way, in order to create a film with an organic sense of storytelling and characters (a “story line”). Other
