What do you mean by “tendril”?
This question is a bit tricky. A tendril is a very long string of fibers that runs straight down the body for a while before coming to rest at the base of the tail. They are used to determine speed. So the idea that a quarter horse tends to travel faster than a thoroughbred is false. But, a thoroughbred can run more slowly, and a quarter horse more quickly. It depends on many things, and if people are running as fast or faster than they can be, then it goes to the level that they are willing to go to.
But, if people are running less than they can possibly run, then the idea they want to run more than they can may not be a good idea.
So, in this case, the fact that the equines tend to be faster does not necessarily mean it is a correct question to ask – it just means that we do need to ask it. And if it’s not, then we should probably stop asking it until we’re sure it is, or we would likely have no other data.
The city government of St. Paul should remove a monument to Confederate generals from city streets. It should also call for a new statue to be placed where the old one was located.
“I can’t come up with a name for [it],” Mayor Chris Coleman told the St. Paul Pioneer Press on Tuesday.
Coleman, who is in charge of the city’s legal department, said the city has been given legal notice from the attorney general of the state of Minnesota that it can remove the memorial on city property.
Coleman said he did not know if the city was notified immediately before Mayor Betsy Hodges told St. Paul Patch that she was moving forward with the action to remove the memorial.
When Coleman told Hodges that the city was going to act, she quickly reached out to the city’s attorney, who asked him to inform his superiors. “We sent a memorandum to our legal division and we are in the process of sending it to our department manager as well.”
The city of 11,000 people is home to a number of monuments — mostly in the downtown and west parts of the city — commemorating generals and soldiers who served under Confederate president Jefferson Davis, or with Confederate veterans of the Civil War.
When reached by The Huffington Post Tuesday, Hodges denied that she was moving forward with a monument action.
