Is its performance, or is it its social or moral aspect? Is it the money? The fame, the money, the fame? Horse racing isn’t that money. It’s to live well, and that’s what is important. That’s what’s important to me. That’s what’s important in life.
And what’s important to me in sport, in life? I want to do well and help people. I’m happy that I am. I didn’t know what I am doing. I was just happy to live. I was happy to live the life, and I am still happy. But I did learn that sometimes I have to give up the happiness so you can get something more. Sometimes you have to do more if you want to live well, and that’s how I am. I live like that. I can’t have anything else. I cannot be happy. I have to look for happiness. That’s where I came into the sport. And how did I learn from that? I learned from being in America. I grew up there, I saw the sport and that is how I learned.
There are many races and championships, but you don’t have a specific place where you call home, or a place on the continent where you think you will grow into something better. You come from all over the world.

It must be quite emotional. To say that you were once a wild child and that it brought a lot to do your best is something that seems quite remarkable, but does it take a long time to learn?
I have to learn everything by doing it, you have to do it. That’s the important thing. You know what the best is? Doing what you love best. That’s how I learn.
Did you go to New York to study horses?
No, I did not. But I did train there and I spent a long time in Europe there and there, so yes.
Where did you look at America or Europe?
In the West [US], on our farm, in Tennessee. Here [in Europe], on the farm in Switzerland. In the south of England.
