Yes. The most famous way to learn guitar is to play a few songs in a minor key. In most major cities you can find “guitar lessons” (I used to do this myself for a few years). This can be free or expensive, so you don’t want to be under the pressure to purchase equipment. There are a lot of people offering free lessons here on Lazy Guitar
Can I use the GUTS program to get my freaks into the guitar?
I really want to get into freaky, new wave music but I don’t have any ideas for a piece that goes all the way up to the top. If someone has a great idea for something great then give them a listen to it… it’s a lot of work, but worth the effort. There’s nothing on this website that really gets the band into that type of music, so make sure to check out the guitar lessons, the freaky music and other resources.
Can I use a drum machine?!
Yes. There are plenty of drum machines out there that are good for guitar. I’m currently using the “Fuzion” from Yamaha but they may get replaced soon. There are also kits that are great for guitar. They are easy to use without any hardware requirements and are capable of creating some awesome stuff. Check out our new Guitar Guitar Kits page for more information about gear to get into.
Can I do drums?
Yes. This is not only the most popular guitar training you can do, but also the most fun. I personally use a Kick Drum Pad on a Roland SG, which is a real time-wasting instrument. If you have a guitar but not an amp you can learn to play drums on the computer with a kick-drum pad on your guitar.
What type of music can I play before I can play guitar?
