I’m not much of a musician, but after seeing some of the videos of the famous musicians, like Chris Kirkpatrick or Eric Clapton, I decided I want to do it one day for me. So I’ve been making music for about 3 years now and I have a band called “I Love You” and have had about 2 years of success.
What advice would you give someone wanting to try the craft?
Just be a creative with music and make music. And if you’re not inspired, you need to take it back to the start. I mean look at the Beatles, they played all day until they died and recorded all their albums that night, that could never have happened if everyone just stuck to their ideas.
I know a lot of the people that follow in your footsteps don’t listen to the blogs or don’t watch you. What would you say to them?
Don’t let people stop you. Don’t let people not appreciate you. That’s just a small part of it, but it’s the bigger part if they think that because they like your music or you say things and you’re not “like others” that they can judge you. I mean, at the end of the day, you’re a human being and everyone has their own opinion, and I don’t think it’s very fair to say that you can’t be as happy in your own way as people.
You’re very famous now. What do you do when you’re at home without a camera phone?
I don’t. I’m probably a little more serious about music right now. And sometimes I’ll make a playlist and I listen to it at night, just so I feel that I’m not on the internet a lot. I don’t listen to music or watch a lot of TV or magazines because I think it’s all going to waste. And I’m an early riser so I wake up at 4 or 5 in the morning.
What are some of your favorite artists or singers?
I was really disappointed with Miley Cyrus. I think she’s just playing to a certain audience and I mean that’s okay, but I really wish that I could say that I liked Miley Cyrus because a lot of the times with that kind of person, they don’t really want to acknowledge that they’re just being themselves.
