Major scale (Maj3):

Minor scale (M3):

Chord (C):

The first thing you should learn about scales is that they all start on a C chord.
So, it is possible to be in a song and have no clue what chord is or if you even belong in it at all.
This is an extremely common problem when you learn scales, and when trying to teach it to other guitar players at your school.
I recommend taking a class for that purpose if you plan on attending that school.

Minor Blues Scale
This scale has several modes, it starts on the C major triad and finishes on a C major 7 chord. You can add another major 7 on both the root and the 9th to make a minor 10 chord. Or for a more compact scale, you can combine major 6, 8, 9, 10 or 12 chords on top of the C7 chord.
It’s an exercise that’ll sharpen your thumb and will help you learn to play all the major and minor scale notes by heart.
Major Scale – Bb, G, F
This scale can be broken down into a major 7 chord and 7th chord.
This scale is used to build ii-V-I relationships or over-the-top melodic lines, and it’s also played over a diminished 4-bar form.
Major 6 – F
