This topic’s been brought up to me a lot…so I decided to talk about it today:
The age is important for a few reasons:
– In addition to learning any instrument, people start in their mid- to late 30s as they are getting older
– Guitar lessons become very expensive as you need more hands and less practice time
– Guitar lessons have a pretty significant impact on your mood and mental wellbeing
– There are often better free alternatives to guitar lessons out there

– A lot of people are not aware of their own abilities and are struggling to do something they should
– The amount of time that guitar is spent practicing may not be appropriate for them
– The ability to do a complex piece of music is a lot to ask of someone from your school age to try to learn that way
– There’s more to learn than just guitar and learning the scales
– I feel like guitar is a great tool to learn about music and culture. So it’s great when we start using it as a tool to learn about other areas of creativity as well.
This all comes about because people are often very young when they start learning guitar. By the time I was in school, I had just played music with my friend in the bands I played and was beginning to get a feel for it.
This was right around the time I played my first live bands and the bands were doing quite well.
But you need to get better in the music, so it was great when I managed to play with four different bands and get better in every single aspect as a professional musician.
If you had told me back then I would be playing with different professional bands, you would have said that that couldn’t be done. I didn’t realize how great that would be until a few decades later.
I started learning songs in a very similar way as a young kid. You learn the basics of what type of music you are into and that’s what you learn: scales, chords, harmony etc.
There’s a reason that music is called “mood music”. You can read a lot more about that on this website.
I have always been intrigued by the fact that if you learn the basics of how to play an instrument it doesn’t matter too much how that instrument gets used later in life, just as long as you have that basic foundation.
It helps that there have been a lot of songs written about songs, and
