A man is dead after being shot in the face, in the driveway and in the front yard of the family home in Portage.
It happened around 10:15 p.m. Saturday.
According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office, the victim died from multiple gunshot wounds, injuries to his right eye, injuries to his left eye and wounds to his nose.
Two people are in custody, police said.
Both were transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.
Neighbor Kevin McArthur says he saw the shooting on his property. He said he saw a man running through the front yard of his home, pointing a gun in his face.
“The first thing I saw was two shots,” he said.
McArthur said he rushed his son to the hospital and later called 911.
“I was worried about him and how the shooter got in and left,” McArthur said.
Authorities said the shooter fled in a green car with an Illinois license plate of QFQB711. The car is described by authorities
