In each lesson I try to provide a quick and clear solution to how you should go about this.
And then I suggest you take the idea further by playing the same problem again and trying different approaches (a.k.a approaches that I suggest in every lesson).
In this lesson it will be suggested that you learn two (or more) scales that follow the E-B-C-D-G triad. Then move on to the next scales one at a time (E-G-Bb-C-Eb-G). As you do you should always play these scales with the right hand – right hand left hand – and then start learning the rest of the guitar chords.
The main chords with these scales are C-E-G-D-E-B-C.
In fact, each chord follows this triad so that when you get to those first chords you have a good feeling of what the scale is about.

This is a good way to learn a chord and then move on to the next. And these scales will give you something to build upon as your fingers get better at chord shapes.
But it is worth reminding you that we have a couple of other chords of your own to learn in order to move beyond the previous chord set.
But first in that lesson you are going to learn a few notes to add some new sounds to these notes. That is in each lesson we will also suggest that you play those chords out of the key of E.
Here is a simple exercise to introduce to you a bit of E-B-G-D arpeggio progression before moving onto the second chord set.
In this example we are playing the following chords:
Chord #1 – the first chord we’ll go over in this series
Chord #2 – this chord will follow our E-B-G-D-E-B-C progression
Chord #3 – the next chord that you will be playing
Chord #4 – your next chord
Chord #5 – this chord will follow up after chord #3
This exercise will help you to develop your arpeggios before moving onto the first chord set.
Now we are going to try and play those two chords with the first scale in your playing (E-B) and the second scale in your playing (E-G).
First the scales will be the
