What is the most sold guitar? – How To Learn Guitar Fast

The most sold guitar is the Gibson Les Paul (more than a million copies sold), a Les Paul model with a single carved top and rosewood and ebony fingerboard. Another top-selling guitar is the “Plymouth” model, a Gibson Special and a Les Paul model with a three-piece top. These guitars sold a million copies, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. The top-selling guitar during the early 1980s was the Epiphone J-120, a Les Paul with an ebony and rosewood top. Its sales have dropped since then and it now has a lower market share than the Gibson.

Gibson Les Paul Custom

Les Paul Custom (pictured above) is the most popular guitar among collectors. They have the highest demand and are the most sought-after guitar for many collectors.

Les Paul Custom (LPC)

The Limited Edition (and discontinued) Les Paul Custom (LPC) was the very first Les Paul Guitar, designed for Gibson Les Pauls, and was a limited edition that sold for £100. Some of the models of LPC sold for around $2,500, and there weren’t any official prices released for LPs, because of the limited quantity of these guitars. The guitars also have the logo, with a white gold plate under the “P” in Gibson, on the back of the handguard.

The Les Paul Custom is available in two configurations. There is a plain white one, with a rosewood and ebony fingerboard in the usual Gibson layout. There is also a gold laminate model, with maple fretboard and a white gold laminate top. The “L” logo remains on Gibson’s body. They are available only in black ebony on a black laminate.

The Les Paul Custom is similar to the Epiphone J-120. The main difference is that Gibson changed their headstock. Instead of the LPC logo, the Epiphone logo has a white “P” in Gibson on the top (and the Ebony logo is hidden under the name “LPC”).

Other than the color of the headstock, most other differences are minor, such as the Epiphone logo being under the name Les Paul Custom rather than Les Paul Custom. That said, the epiphone logo is clearly visible on the body of a Les Paul Custom from an angle.
