SINGAPORE – As the world prepares to welcome the two newly appointed heads of the State Resources Centre (SRC), the government is looking to improve the efficiency and transparency of its planning process, said Minister for Public Works and Minister for Science and Technology Tan Chuan-Jin in the draft policy released today.
“We need a process that is as transparent and as efficient as possible, and has clear objectives; the focus of both SRC and SRC’s activities should be on maximizing the efficiency of resources allocation,” he said in a statement.
The government said it was making more efforts to engage with people, including through online forums, in order to provide citizens with more efficient, accurate information.
However, it said the SRC’s mandate was not to become a “bureaucracy” but rather to “develop, coordinate and assess”
