If you are working with a commercial printer like a Zebra Press I suppose you can just cut away a lot of the clothes (this could also be done with a Dremel if required) to see through them so that no part of the object is visible!
You could also take some paper (for instance some old business cards or newspaper cut out to 1.5″x1.5″) and fold it right between the clothes. In my case I have folded a lot of cards into the same shape between the clothes (so that there are no sides to hide from my wife).

I usually look at photos to see if they have a particular story behind them and often try to extract the meaning from the photo. In some cases I have used the same concept in both a corporate photo and my own personal photos. For example an image that I recently had taken of my wife and our kids was a shot from her point of view and my own point of view. In the corporate photo we are seen through her eyes. Since in a private photo she is not the focus of the image we have a completely different view. That’s why I try to tell my clients to be able to see both perspectives on the same photo.
I also use photos for editorial to put myself in another perspective. Some people are uncomfortable with me being in public, some are in love with me but if I am asked to put myself in another perspective I try to put myself in a different position in front of the camera. If I am photographing myself I try to get the image as close as possible to just me as if I were sitting down for a good long meal eating with my wife.
