For professional photographers, two things are of primary importance. The first is that a good workflow is critical to producing a quality product. The second is a good editing tool to use to bring out all the highlights and shadows. If you are looking for the latter, we recommend Adobe’s Lightroom. It enables editing features like highlights and shadows and can be used on computers with a standard graphics card. But, the fact is that we, as experienced photographers, are not really concerned with editing Lightroom.

Shutterstock has a great section for photographers explaining how they work. Their first point is to not rush through an editing process, but rather start with a clean, ready-to-go project. Shutterstock’s second point is to always keep in mind the needs of the user and be as accurate as possible.
Here’s Shutterstock’s third point to keep in mind, which is: “Don’t let your editing abilities get out of control. Your editing software does not create the whole picture.”

How will I use Adobe Lightroom?
Shutterstock offers three different versions of Lightroom. Lightroom Classic, Lightroom CC and Lightroom Mobile all have their own editing tools. Each has a different version number and different user interface:

Shutterstock.com is more of an application by default. What it lacks in features that other Lightroom apps like the Pro and Pro+ have, it makes up for it with ease. It allows you to export multiple pictures with different filter effects and import them into the program. There’s also an interface which lets you switch between the original and edited images.
