This is where I say the following, “You can learn to play piano, you can’t learn to play piano.”
I don’t mean that you can’t learn to play piano because there has yet been another pianist who has learned the piano. They too were just starting out.
Even if you had mastered the basic piano technique or if you were just starting with advanced piano technique, you can still improve. You can improve if you get a chance at an experienced piano teacher to help you.
However, you can not improve if you have no intention to move forward with your playing.
It is very important to be prepared for playing with a teacher when you start learning the piano.
Piano Teaching Tips
You might think that learning piano is easy.
That’s actually not the case.
If you are just starting out, you are far too young, and there doesn’t appear to be anything that you have to do beyond having a good ear to listen to other people’s music.
It doesn’t make sense to even consider learning to play piano before knowing the basic techniques so that you can develop these skills. You could learn to play the piano, but you’d still not be able to play the piano at all.
The best advice is to practice a good amount. Not practice “nothing” at all! Practice practicing. Every time at least once a week!
If you can’t learn this, play a lot and practice. Do not skip practicing. If you miss a day or the other thing, get an additional piece of music which will put you in a good place.
So learn to play some music. Play it with all levels of proficiency. Play it until you get the skill from playing it to knowing what to play.
When you know what to play, use this as a guide when going along in your learning process.
Don’t learn to play without knowing this. Learn the music. Then practice it a lot.
You must spend some time playing music as this would make the process a lot less complicated.
Learn to read music. It’s not difficult. In fact, you might not need to read music to have the piano technique down. However reading and listening to music can help.
