One of the coolest and most popular features in the latest release of Microsoft Windows was its new Quick Launch feature. Quick Launch allows you to launch applications from the Start Screen without having to open the full, fully-featured Explorer.
The following video demonstrates how this new feature behaves in the Windows 8.1 operating system. It opens the Windows 8.1 file explorer to the taskbar and allows you to select an application to run. It then launches the running application and starts it.
This video shows how the new feature functions in Windows 8.1 without the use of a desktop. The application you want to launch is installed at the Desktop, the Desktop does the task of opening applications. In Windows 8, you would open an application and find it in the Desktop, then find a shortcut for it in Explorer and click it.
But in Windows 8.1, what the application does is run in the background when you launch it in the Start Screen. However, the application can now run while the Windows 8.1 system is running, as well as when it is unplugged from the desktop. This video explains how this works.

What a night to be a fan at one of the biggest college football games of the year in Texas.
The top-seeded Texas A&M Aggies were on the road in the College Football Playoff National Championship.
As you can see from the video above, the crowd was absolutely electric.
Fans who were dressed as The Big Aggie mascot, “The Swamp Wolf” and “The Big Red,” were seen in attendance, which is one way to give the fans of this game plenty of opportunity to be creative. As you can see in the video below, many fans were wearing Aggie gear and had shirts that read “LOOK AT MY COLOR!!”
