It’s the guitar. There are some of the toughest songs on the album. When I first got the guitar, I hated it.
What music do you listen to?
I love rap and gospel music.
What inspired you to want to become a musician?
It comes from both my parents. My dad came to my wedding and said he was trying to give me some advice. She never listened to him so she tried and she said, “Oh, I think you should go to music school in New Hampshire.” I said, “I don’t want to become a musician.” She kind of laughed and said, “Well you are, but you are only going to do it in a very small way.” She took me to the local public library. I thought she wasn’t serious. I mean, I can go to the library if I’m not feeling it. But she asked me if I wanted to play with a band of my friends, and I said, “Of course, why not?”
Did you start to see some of the people you knew as musicians growing up, or did you just discover them via their music?
I never imagined it like that. I think that’s why I’m not that interested in being a musician. I feel like people really aren’t that interested in the music.
Are you going to make an album?
I don’t know. I’m not exactly sure. It just seems like the right thing to do. I like the idea of sharing my music in a way.
What made you want to tour in the States?
It was a great experience. It was my first time in America.
