Should I use a pick with my ukulele? – Ukulele Chords

As well as picking out which strings to pick from the instrument you will use, there is the possibility of damage. Whilst there is no way to avoid getting stuck on and hitting your instrument, we feel that these are likely to be minor and have therefore gone into the “If you like it so much then you don’t need it!” section.

Where will my instrument be stored?

We recommend purchasing in a locked drawer or in another location safe from view. In most cases this can be achieved by the removal and the addition of string lugs. When it comes to a pick you’re unlikely to ever have to go through the effort of removing the whole pick. Also, we recommend that you avoid any strings with the most common breakage point of the string, it may be a sign of an unhealthy state of the string and is therefore not recommended.

Will my instrument be of great value if purchased new?

The price of an instrument is a very sensitive element and should always be approached with a good view of where it will be used. Where an instrument is used in a way that may not lead to its end being a good investment, then that instrument is less likely to be a good buy. The most common cause is if the string ends fail or are damaged in any way and that’s an extremely costly and time consuming project. Whilst some are more likely to fail than others, the vast majority of strings fail within a short period of time so it’s unlikely that you are likely to regret purchasing an instrument which is in good working order.

A few weeks ago, I was on tour for my book about “The Art of Friendship.” I was chatting with the man of two decades, who had been, by his own account, the real star of the band. As he was going through the book at his hotel, he mentioned that he wanted the band’s “Pete Seeger quote” to be the cover line of the book.

I said, “We could be doing something in the style of ‘Pete Seeger Quote.’ ”

“You have a lot of energy, Pete.”

I asked him if he’s ever thought about doing a tour like this for my next book.

“We could do that,” he said. “Yes.”
