Dennis Smith Jr will have to wait until May 14 to play in a game, but the Utah Jazz’s rookie forward says he’s already enjoying his time in the NBA.
The 19-year-old Smith was selected by the Jazz with the 20th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. He averaged 17.3 points and 7.8 rebounds in 31.3 minutes per game, helping Utah finish fourth in the West.
In the 2017 NBA Summer League, Smith was named player of the game along with fellow rookies De’Aaron Fox, Isaiah Cousins and Jerami Grant. The 19-year-old posted 11.6 points and 6.6 rebounds in 21 minutes per game.
The following day, Smith tweeted out what he enjoyed the most about his Summer League experience, thanking everyone that shared their own experience during all five days.
