This was not really the response the actor was expecting, or the one he was hoping for.
Pee-wee’s Big Holiday
The actor was sitting in an office watching the new TV drama on BBC4.
“I don’t know what these people are doing, they are just fucking in my face every week,” he says, holding up the show’s title card. “It’s just a bunch of shit.”
Pee-wee’s Big Holiday is a comedy about a bunch of young guys on a holiday, and all the way down to the last minute are their antics.
Dressed up, sitting in chairs, the characters go to the cinema, then to a pub, just to try to get their mates round to coming along as well. The jokes are very tongue-in-cheek and the whole thing is pretty hysterical, but they don’t really have to be, because this isn’t the most serious thing they could do for a couple of hours.

“All of a sudden I realised I was walking around the show set with P,” says Chris Evans, referring to the character Pee-wee Herman, played by Will Ferrell. “I was laughing really hard and I still can’t figure out why. Was I wearing a costume? Did you put a wig on me? Did somebody call a prop shop? We’d have a day like this once a week…”
Chris Evans is still trying to work out what Pee-wee was trying to tell him.
“It was weird, he thought maybe everyone was getting bored or not wanting to come with me, and that the whole thing was very pretentious… ”
He continues: “We were on stage in the middle of the scene and all of a sudden I just felt like we had hit a nerve. So in my head I was thinking, ‘I don’t know what everyone is waiting for, Pee-wees
