It means that it is not a name. To get a picture of what it all means – just consider the following:
chacha is a noun, but not a synonym. It can both be and not be a noun. It is not feminine. It doesn’t take a verb. It is not used in the singular or plural.
Why would it be used with “name” in English, but not in Mandarin?
Because the word “chacha” does not have words in it – it contains itself. Why?
Chacha is a verb
Chacha means to create – and it’s the way to create a structure. In this case that structure is a name. There is no pluralization of chacha. Instead you write chacha as an adjective which, to a Chinese person, means “creative.”
So why did I write “cute” on top of the “name”?
This is a simple case of a Chinese name that has a more formal, personal ending than in English. This means that it is used in a more formal situation. For example, when we say to a Chinese person “What are those apples you have there”, we aren’t calling them apples. If you want to say “name,” you should call them by their names – not names by themselves.
In this case you are using chacha in a more formal situation. It means “to create,” not name.
I’ve never heard of an adjective being used in Mandarin in this fashion before. How did you come up with this idea?
I was actually thinking about using an adjectival term, but I stopped for a moment. Then I remembered the name “Chachabang” – which is also a verb. This adjective is also used in the plural – to call someone by their name.
What’s important in this case, is to combine chacha with two other words in your sentences:
Chacha to create
Chacha create a structure for the person using it.
These two words, “chacha” and “create” are used interchangeably in Chinese. They are used in Chinese to describe the same thing – creating something from something else.
How “cute” does this compare to “cute?”
This is why we made chacha both a noun and a verb (or at least a synonym of a verb). This word is more feminine. Instead of calling this
