I think so, I always try them. There were a lot of piano players who played classical, and I tried them all. I’m quite certain they will pick up some new stuff. As for the other styles, it depends on some other person and on how they are feeling.
Would this be the first generation for students to graduate?
When I was at KIT, we had three majors. One was music, another one was social sciences, and after that it was art. Now, it’s different. One more year, and then one more year to be able to do a different one. What you will see next is that the students in KIT were more educated than the ones at St Petersburg, for example.

Yes, I’m sure that I can be very good at it. But when I was at KIT, there were not many other pianists, only a few young people who wanted to play piano in some music department. Now, there are a lot of young people — mostly Russian, I suppose — who think that playing music is their career.
