If you’re starting your career as a professional guitarist, then I think it’s a good idea to start playing guitar at some point, even your teenage years.
I know some people have trouble starting at young ages as compared with others. But I actually had a great teacher when I was starting out. I would think, “What the hell, why don’t I just do my best?” I did it, not very well, but I did it, and I learned a lot, too.
But in general, I think you need to at least be able to read and write music, in order for you to play guitar. But you’ll learn to play when you really want. You should not just play for fun with people. You should try to understand music and make it your own, and that’s how you start playing guitar.
In case, if you start playing guitar very young, you will play only your own songs. You will create your own music, and you will try to play in groups.
What type of music will help you play guitar more quickly? And which type of music will give you more challenge?
One thing that many people get wrong, is that only rock and jazz can help you better.
If you want to play rock, you need to be very good at singing, or if you are not good with singing, then you have to be good at playing the drums and guitar. Both these areas can be very challenging, especially if you don’t have a lot of musical experience in the first place.

As long as you have the desire to learn and the ability to play well, I would say rock can help you, because you won’t be distracted in learning guitar.
You can still play great rock, but if not, it’ll be hard to learn. It’s an area where you get to choose your skill level.
I think it all depends on your style of music. I’m not saying that you should always play jazz when playing rock or punk; it’s an interesting debate.
There are times when playing the guitar really helps you, like when you play blues. Or if you are working on your guitar soloing, you can improvise and play rock, blues, country, blues rock, and you will learn a lot.
I know that you are one of the youngest people on this list. Do you feel lucky to have the opportunity to learn the guitar?
It’s great.
